Hammerite fine on steel but not the plastic, for this you will need a proper sand down, priming with plastic primer suitable for the material, and cellulose with plasticiser added to it for your colour, and if its a base coat and clear system you will need lacquer with plasticiser in.
If you don't it will craze and crack terribly with the expansion and contraction of the plastic roof, which will be considerably more than the steel roof.
