Thinking of changing Rally2.
Looked at an 06 Copen with 58k for £5500.
Virtually every seam around the sills and also on the wheelarches had a rust mark/stain.
My Sirion has no sign of anything like that -is this normal on the Copen?

Have heard of this happening
Have heard of this happening to COPEN's and most of the earlier models can suffer from it. To add to Bob's comment, the copen will be smaller have less power. Last time I visted the local Daihatsu dealership for my service, even the service technician didn't think much to them, he thought they sound like a motorbike. Don't forget there are 2 engine variants (650cc turbo & 1.3 K3-VE) the latter came out in 2007 and pushed the BHP marginally. Best having a look at the owner reviews on parkers.co.uk.
Also worht taking one out for a test drive for a comparison as well. There was an owner on here not long ago where his COPEN delveloped a fault which could not be traced, and have seen other postings the same.

staying with Dai
I reckon if u want a change, but still stay with Dai, get a YRV Turbo
- half the price of the Copen . There are a few on eBay (even a Cat-C repair for £1500! - ending today)

The Turbo although has a auto gearbox but you can use the steershift if you want to control the power. The only thing to bare in mind here is that the car will have a higher roll factor in the corners and to get the most out of the car it is advisable to get wider tyres and to look at possibly stiffening up the car in some way. But this would also compromise on the ride. But apart from that I'm still enjoying mine, much so I use it as a everyday driver and the Subaru doesn't get a look in
But then again to fill up the YRV will be the same you would spend on your Sirion. Unless if you want to use the expensive petrol like I do (Shell V-Power).
