Dipsticks

Forum:

Not being rude I assure you.

My engine on my Daihatsu Sirion 2007 car has a KR3 engine but appears to have a KR1 dipstick, is there any difference at all other then the shape?

Do you mean your has a 1300cc

Do you mean your has a 1300cc K3-VE engine with a 998cc 1KR-FE dipstick?

Ive no idea of the difference but could give you measurements to compare.

Re: Dipsticks

Yep, should it have or have I the wrong one? I have the K3-VE engine and not the 1KR.

Should have said i can give

Should have said i can give you measurements of a K3-VE dipstick to compare to your KR1-FE.

The KR1 dipstick goes through an S bend and assume its metal and not plastic like the K3.

If you give me your chassis number i can run it through my parts cd and find out which one it should have.

Dipstick Boffinry

Hi Phil,

your Sirion is showing as made in Jan 2007 and should have the dipstick part no 15301-B1070 for K3VE engine. B1070 superceeds the older 15301-97401 dipstick for the K3VE series engines.
The part number for the 1KR-FE is 15301-B1010 so they must be different.

The measurements of a 97401 stick from my 2003 K3VET -
Length from stopper flange to tip 502mm.
Stopper flange to Full marker 460mm and Low marker 491mm.

Hope this helps.
