I'm looking at a Daihatsu Materia for my mother-in-law (85) who is used to driving a fiat doblo and now looking for something smaller and auto

I have viewed one of the cars at my local dealers , although extremly poor service and not able to supply keys, as very busy with customers and wanted me to make an appointment !!!!!

the questions I have based on reviews I have read are

1) The MPG whats achived appears to be in the high 20's although quoted as much higher
2) Can a cruse control be added - its not an option on the car

any help and advice welcome
