Forum:
Right I have a contact who is investigating the above modifications, and he says that its pretty easy to do (as he currently modifies Vectra`s, and does the above for their V6`s [have one myself and they are darn good]).
Just wondering if anyone would be interested in the above, as I`m going to have them done anyways.
The throttle body would be enlarged on an exchange basis, and the manifolds would be enlarged and would be de-catted.
If you are interested please post below, just need to know if there are people out there that would want them.
I may be able to get LED dash kits too, but I`ll get mine done first then show some pics when done (may not be for 4-5 months tho).

Body Building
Not worth it, a total waste of money as the existing throttle body has enough flow and spare capacity already, all this will do, in most cases, is make performance worse.V6 Vectra throttle bodies are actually too small for the engine, modifications to these are actually beneficial.
Removal of cats is illegal on vehiclas 93 on, there are a few exemptions, but not Sporties.
All these mods will lead to the engine ECU recieving the wrong information and totally screw the performance, even if the engine is retuned on a rolling road you will see no improvement.
Over the years i have seen many of these popular modifications, and seen many of the fantastic claims made by people selling them. Having tested many of them on a dynamometer (rolling road) i have found that the biggest majority actually give a lower output when tested before and after. The only effective way to get more power is to give the vehicle a damn good service and tune it on a rolling road with an experienced operator. This will ensure the injection system is running at its optimum.
I agree with what your
I agree with what your saying but, the cats on a Sportrak are so far back and away from the Lambda sensors, (in the manifolds) that they do little apart from hinder performance. I know that my H reg Sporty had a cat, and i just replaced the front cat downpipe (as it was hit on a rock), and replaced it with a Carbed front pipe. Which joined on at the manifold and then rejoined back at the rear exhaust section. I know its pre 1993 so doesn`t need a cat, but she deffo performs better with the de-cat!!!! And thats top speed (which isn`t important), but rev`s more freely and passed the emissions on the MOT better than some new cars (MOT testers words).
And as for throttle body, I don`t know about this as I`ve not tried it yet. BUT I`m having a spare one I have done, and I`ll see what difference it makes.
But I`ll deffo be getting a tubular manifold, as every vehicle I`ve ever known that has had a set of "Headers" made has had a hell of a difference. As the engine wastes less energy pushing the exhaust gasses out, and can so transfer that energy into moving the pistons. It`s only going to be marginal, but seeing as I`ve gone through 3 manifolds, as after a while they crack and are then junk. So just waiting for the next time!!!
