Snorkle on Fourtrak

Hi all,

I acquired my Fourtrak around Oct/Nov last year and the previous owner had started to fit a snorkle on the offside wing. They have used the old drainpipe method and have done a rasonable job coming through the wing but I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find some flexible hose that will fir the drainpipe inside the engine bay so I can connect it up. I have yet to find anything that is the right size.

any chance you can post some pics of this mod, a snorkel is something i need, more because of the approach angle i have to take to cross a river to one of my fishing marks and a couple of water holes than general water use

You can always do what I did, blank off the original intake that faces the engine, and weld in a new one, from the same size exhaust pipe used to make the snorkle, facing outwards towards the mudguard/fender/wing (whichever terminology you want to use) then its an easy job just to use a straight piece of rubber hose.

i recently fitted snorkel to my dihatsu.

its a rough and ready offroader, used gas axe to cut through double skin wing. all i did was take of air filter box, thena 90 degree corner so it comes out of inlet maifold and bents to face wing, then hooked flexi pipe onto it, shit load of silicone, few jubali clips and hey presto!

will go anywhere!

I have made my snorkle out

I have made my snorkle out of 2 2.5" 90 degree exhaust bents. Cut them up until they had all the right angles and correct shape and then welded the whole lot together. The hole through the wing is made with an 2.5" holesaw. Ive connected it also wirh flexibel hose. The snorkletop is from "safari". See my pics on the galerypage. Just posted them this morning.
