hello everyone,
Was driving past a subaru garage yesterday and saw a Sirion 2 in the grounds, so i went in for a look, only to find that it is another version of the Sirion! called the justy, it is identical to the Sirion facelift, apart from badging. The engine and interior even the alloys are the same and it is not four wheel drive!
I count four differnt versions of the car now;
1- Daihatsu Sirion/Boon
2- Toyota Passo
3- Perodua Myvi
4- Subaru Justy
and the little one litre engine also powers the toyota aygo and its brothers(citroen C1 & Pug 107) and the yaris too
they are certainly getting their moneys worth out of the model and engines,

Didn't know about the Subaru model. Give it time and every manufacturer will end up having a rebadged Sirion ;). It is quite a good 1 litre engine in the Sirion though, as had one as a courtesy car just before xmas when my YRV was in having brakes and Wheel bearing done. Was quite impressed with it, better than my mums 206 1.4 16 Valve. Though think anything is faster than most Pugs :D.

the engine is a little cracker, sounds really growly, }:) and does just under 50 to the gallon round town. The car is reliable it has nearly 20k on the clock now, and touch wood nowt gone wrong. heres to the next 20.......

Now- 05 chrade 1.0 SL (my folks's)

Then again the last justy was a Suzuki Swift with 4 wheel drive.
Just noticed the piccy you've uploaded. Christopher Neil that's Northwich way? Not too far from me.
Where do you take your Sirion for a service etc? I used TWG last time to get my YRV sorted.

yes, we use TWG, even though they don't sell Daihatsus anymore just servicing and warranty work, at least i can buy accesories now for our car from Chris Neal instead !

Hi Pocketrocketer,
Was your car in just before christmas having something done to the gearbox? As there was a blue sirion on the ramps when I took my YRV in for a windscreen refit.
How do you rate TWG for mechanical stuff? Thinking of using them again for my next service.

hello, sorry about not replying not been on computer for a few days,twg seems ok, not had any problems with servicing and my parents Charade had Driveshafts fitted with no problems, other than i have a intermittant squeak from my dash and still waiting for them to get back to me.

I have now added side and bumper mouldings and planning some other bits and pieces so looks a bit different now. Still dirty at the moment

The bloke I was speaking to at TWG (The bald emotionless one, didn't catch his name
), kept saying how Daihatsu's never break and they never keep parts in stock as they can't shift them. Then he pointed to the blue Sirion on the ramps and told me that was the first one they had in a long time that had a problem under warranty. Hopefully you had a better courtesy car than me. Ended up with a Hyundai Amica Automatic with the indicators and wipers swapped over. Took some getting use to.

yes that was ours, they were looking for the dash squeak saying it was the brakes....
he is the workshop foreman, i didn't catch his name either! 
Don't worry about cars being dirty our does not know what a sponge is.......
i had a basic yrv with sloppy squealing alternator belt, brought back memories, but not the performance!

Well at least you had a car designed for the euromarket to drive in. It wasn't a green YRV? Only reason I ask is that the old bloke (Again don't know the name) who appears to deal with the spare parts area was quizzing me about my YRV when I was there, and he looks as though he drives a green 'Y' reg one. I think they gave me the Hyundai as: A).. it was an automatic as is the YRV turbo 2).. Wanted to give me a taster of the new Amica. Unfortunately it didn't give me much joy to drive so will definately pass on the chance of getting one next time

squeak 2
the green yrv is the parts guys, i had a red yrv with a alt belt squeal, probably have a look at the squeak myself don't think i'm gonna get anywhere with it :mad:. Korean cars are better than italian/french cars for reliability, but i'd rather have a daihatsu though
