Forum:
Hi,
Been frequenting Autotrader as of late. And noticed the YRV 4 Trak alloys are different to the Turbo ones. Therfore what size are the alloys on the 4Trak? And what are the tyre sizes? They look to fill up the wheel arches better than the Turbo 15" alloys, which make me think they are wider than 175. Or is what I'm seeing a bit deceptive?
Cheers.
Jon.

YRV 4x4 wheels
Hi Jon,
They have 185 x 55 x 15 tyres on a different design rim. Just a slightly higher tyre wall height and width than the Turbo.
I have 195 x 50 x 15 Yoko's on my Turbo and they are great, check the pic in the gallery.
Regards your screen leak, i would find out who fitted it and get them to do it or fix it.
All insurance screen claims are covered for defect etc. Contact the former keeper, they might tell you a bit more about the car and how it came to need a new screen??
Cheers,
Dave.

Window has now been re-fitted....
Hi Dave,
Interesting. How come these wheels don't come on the turbo model then? You would think that with a wider profile tyre they would benefit better for grip. I take it the PCD of these wheelare the same? 4x100? My turbo alloys are flaking at the moment, which one of them caused me a slow puncture as it got to the valve. Yep another problem which was easily solvable.
On the subject of the windscreen. Yeah could've done that. In the end as I was seriously fed up and not wanting a repeat performance of getting water logged, So I took it to the local Service Dealer and got them to sort it out for me. They did provide me with a courtesy car 'Hyundai amica 1.1 Automatic'. Not exactly the best car in the world power wise, but beggers can't be choosers
Cheers for the advice though Dave.

Wheels etc
I know theres not much in it but its probably to keep the side wall profile small to give it the low profile tyre look or as near as.
I think 16" with 6j 0r 6.5j alloys and 195/205 x 40/45 tyres would have been best but only Daihatsu knows otherwise??
Daihatsu has kept the PCB the same as usual but the centre bore has changed smaller (54.1mm) earlier cars were mostly 56.1mm.
Glad you got the screen sorted, keep the heater on full blasting into the footwell for a while with the window a bit down, that will clear the moisture up alot quicker.
Regards,
Dave.

I'd think it would look better....
Dave,
I'd think the Turbo would have looked better with the 4TRAK alloys personally. Oh well maybe Daihatsu did it out of cheapness
Just got hold of few extras for the car. Mostly external cosmetic mods such as side protection strips and side/bumper protectors. Hopefully the whole car will look a bit different. Ended up buying Siron side strips They have Daihatsu written at the ends
) and Subaru corner/bumper protectors (no writting on them). As getting hold of any YRV bits and pieces seems to be quite hard these days.
In relation to the water in the footwells. I managed to get most of it by using a hair dryer. Luckily the interior escaped the muggy smell factor you get when being wet.
