Forum:
Hi all, Any advice would be much appreciated.
I have a Daihatsu Terios that is blowing smoke. 1 month on and its still in the garage blowing smoke and the mechanics say they have no idea how to fix it. “Arnold Clarkâ€
When I first put it into the garage they said the head needed skimmed and a new gasket and timing belt were needed to fix the problem. Visible signs was wet white-ish smoke with some water residue coming from the exhaust, there was little air bubbles and oil floating on top of the water in the header tank.
After doing the work they called me to say it was smoking worse than it was when I brought it into them. They then called me back to say they had put the wrong gasket on it and have ordered me the correct one. After fitting the correct head gasket they called me to say its still blowing smoke like something they have never seen before and have no idea what their next move will be.
Can any forum members advice me as what to do next. Or at least give me some information that I could pass onto Arnold Clarks mechanics. Almost one month with no car and no further forward is driving me insane. Thanks for any help the forum can offer me.

Update!
Sorry I just got news from Arnold Clark 5 minutes ago, apparently they over skimmed the head and that lead to the pistons sticking to the sides. They said they would sort out the mess they have made.
At least they now know what’s wrong with it now and will sort it. Thanks for letting me post on the forum. Dr Marten
