over the last few days had problems starting my fourtrack 2.8 glow plug light seems to go off after a few seconds and results in very bad starting does anyone have any ideas apart from new glow plugs or do i go for somthing else??
ps starts fine after the engine is warm but relay seems to be clicking a bit more than usual???

About a year ago I had a similar problem which was traced to a relay behind the dash. Rather than remove the dash my local Lucas dealer/workshop fitted a manual control switch on the dash and the problem was solved without too much expense.

Hi thanks guys fixed it today the first glow plug was knackered fitted a new set of glow plug for £37 and its starts instantly!!!

cold starting
there is a earth lead connected to the a plate beneath injectors 3 and 4 which in turn is connected to the blukhead under the wiring loom joints to the LHS of the engine, this has a habit of coming loose making the trak a pig to start. there is also a known glow plug failure which causes the same problem
