MT Tires, and wheel sizes!

Forum:

Couple of little questions.

1. my sporty tires are 225/70/15. having trouble finding MT's in this size even 225/75/15!

2. i plan a 2" lift at some point, but wanna have fun until then. im after a spare set of rims for the new tires anyhow, what size rims and tires would you lot sugest that will fit (for now un lifted)?

3. Any cheap MT's out there, brand and where to get em from? Dont mind used or retreads as they will be only used O/R!
Guy from the Land rover club told me that the ones he had on were £55 a piece (they were pretty mean, looked similar to BFG MT's) and he had some others that were £26 a piece. Needless to say i forgot to check the make or ask where they were from! typical... lol

Looking for a happy medium, if i can get some pluggers for £26 ill be a happy bunny, but i wont grumble at £40-£50 a pop.

regards
mark

Starting to get that mud bug... its not good for the wallet i tell you, not good at all!!

Tyres

Hi i think with your sportrak you should go for 215/80 r15 mud tyres, certainly no bigger.Get some greenway machos from tyresdirectuk, a superb retread company and expect to pay 45 quid a tyre approx!! with machos you will never be stuck again, the only thing that will hold you back is clearance - a tyre i can reccomend!!

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

rims

sorry i forgot about rims, you would be alright to just find some second hand fourtrak/sportrack standard rims, the machos have huge tread depth so just watch it on lock, the other thing to do is get some old vitara alloys they are offset, look on ebay or breakers yards, igot mine for nothing, you cant give away old rims and tyres these days, hope this helps.
