Hi all. Got a problem with the starter on my fourtrak. Get a click but no turn over of engine when turning the ignition key (after glow plug light goes out)every now and again. Battery seems ok.
Any ideas of the most likely cause. I think it might be the brushes what do you all reckon, before I take it apart?
By the way , I have a 1986 2 litre petrol Rocky for sale if anyones interested. £350 ono. I'm in Dorset.

i would check the power lead to the starter from the battery both terminals on the starter and all the earths on the engine to body including the earth from the rear of the engine near the glow plug supply bar as these can wiggle loose (took me ages to find that bugger)and the main earth lead i would also check the connections on the rear of the ignition barrel and then i would start to look at the starter motor sloenoid as a possible cause
