Forum:
Hi, i have a 96 sportrak and the lights are mounted on the rear bumper, after inspecting the rear of my car i have found that there are two plastic panels. can these be removed to fit rear light clusters in there place, if so does anybody know where i can get hold of some?
many thanks
tom

Lights
The answer is yes.
The older Sportraks had them coloured and smoked rather than body coloured and the have all the plastic sockets buit in . You should have no problem sourcing the lenses from Ebay but the bits to fit in may have to be trial and error.
I think the bumper lights were adde to meet EU regulations, seems odd now when you see the trend for high rear post lights as on the PUNTO etc.

If you set yer Ebay settings
If you set yer Ebay settings to international, and search for Rocky/Feroza as well as Sportrak you'll turn up a few being broken down for parts, and as they far outnumber the UK spec models they are easily got hold of. I had a smoked pair from Greece for about £12 all in. They are a far better bet than the bumper mounted ones which rot at the thread mountings, and are a complete and absolute pain in the ar$e should one of those 8mm screws decide to seize solid in place when you have bulb to replace. HOWEVER do disconnect them at MOT time....
BTW If anyone reading this has a spare 10 mins, it's well spent making sure your are still free. Remove and grease them at the same time or even better, temper them or fit ST/ST replacements. The next owner will also love you....
