Extra switches and buttons please help!!

Forum:

As said in our other post about welding up rear diff's, we've got a newer 1990 7 seater 2.8TD fourtrak, and it has some different switches, buttons and transfer leaver set-up (operation).

Can anyone advise on what these do:

As you sit in drivers seat, to the left of the steering behind the storks, is a 4H button and a little (leaver style) on/off switch with a red light next to it. We've yet to use the newer '90 4trak, but hoping to do so this weekend.

We take it the 4H button is a electronic switch to engage normal 4 wheel drive without low range, but how do we use it with the transfer leaver.

The transfer leaver only moves back and forth between 2 positions, whereas the our '86 C'reg as a transfer shift movement that can only be described as going from 1st gear to 4th on a normal gearbox.

Any advice would be much appreciated on the added equipment.

Cheers....

Shaun

4 wheel drive

your correct in the button for 4 wheel high and use gearbox as norm in not too sticky conditions. for low ratio leave the button as in normal driving 2h and put small gear leaver in 4low and use gear box as normal. you didnt mention if you had auto or manual hubs but you'll know about them i expect, theres loads of posts on this if you use the search on this site. hope this helps a little cheers bill.
