HELP PLEASE,THE TACHO ON MY 1990 SPORTRAK 1600 PETROL (CARB )HAS STOPPED WORKING.I WOULD BE MOST OBLIGED IF ANYONE CAN POINT ME IN THE DIRECTION OF WHERE AND WHAT TO LOOK FOR. I AM ALSO NOT SURE IF ITS ELECTRICAL OR CABLE DRIVE. THANKS IN ANTICIPATION,FX90.

I can tell you it's cable
I can tell you it's cable driven, fron just in front of where the rear prop joins the transfur case. Can't tell you whats wronge, but the simplest posibility would be the cable comming out of the back of the clock.
Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.

my mates broke last year. The nipple at the drive end of the cable has a pin going through it, like a lower case 't'
It engages with a slot when it's screwed into place. This had sheared so we drilled the hole in the nipple to 1.5mm and bonded in a little piece of an Allen key. Put it back in place and it hasn't stopped working since..hope this helps!
