Sportrak - Fuel Pump

Hey guys,

Wondering if someone could help me with advice. Im trying to find a fuel pump (electrical) for a 1997 R reg Daihatsu Sportrak. I have contacted lots of websites and premium rate car parts and accesories companys but with no luck.

I found a guy breaking a K reg Sportrak injection, and he has a fuel pump (electrical) but im not sure if it would be the same part as mine because of the year. Anyone know Unknw

I assume you have contacted all those breaking Sporties on ebay, shop around as prices vary between private sellers and trade breakers.

As far as I am aware they remained much the same throughout the 1.6I production run. I have a 91 and a 96 and both are the same. I'll check my Manual and get back if I am incorrect but I am 99% sure of that.

HI there I had to buy a new fuel pump for my L reg sportrak which is an injection model as I to could not find one secondhand. It cost £145 brand new and was available from japanese 4x4 spares.

Hi, my fuel pump body rusted through so I needed a new one,it now runs a VW Polo 1.4i pump £25 from a breakers with no problems at all. Just make sure it is an external pump ( as opposed to in tank ) and check the polarity, as the wires will be different colours. The only other job will be to fabricate a clamp to hold it to the mounting plate and off you go.
