Forum:
Hi all.
I've only recently bought my hijet(2003) as cat c damaged. I thought mainly cosmetic. I've just tried driving it up the drive today to give a bit more room.
However I've only managed to move it a couple of feet. The drivers side wheel seems to be locked or locking. The nsr wheel spins (muddy drive).
I thought it may be a seized brake so I decided to first undo the handbrake. I just undid the two nuts on the end of the handbrake lever/cable. I tried again, no difference.
I then jacked it up, stuck it on an axle stand and tried to get the hub off. I don't know how to get it off. Theres no screw to hold the hub on. I've tried to free it with a hammer but it won't budge.
Whilst it was on the axle stands I decide to start it up and stick it in reverse. The nsr wheel/ would spin whereas the osr wheel/hub would barely move, but would spin with high revs, under idle it was stationary.
So, How do I get the hun off? Any suggestions for potential problems/solutions?
Thanks

Found it was seized brakes
Found it was seized brakes but on the front!
I still have no idea how to get the rear off though.

I've found that the brakes
I've found that the brakes are still sticking and also that the brake light remains lit when I've switches the ignition off.
I later discovered that if I lift the brake pedal then that switches off the brake lights. I then discovered when driving it that if I lifted the brake pedal up then the brakes stopped sticking.
So either the spring on the pedal is not returning it properly or its accident damage thats stopping it returning.
So does anyone have any experience of the spring return on the brake pedal failing or am I barking up the wrong tree here.
It has had a light front damage that I thought was purely cosmetic but I've only recently seen that it is a little more than cosmetic. I'm just not sure how much more.
So I need to get someone with more experience to look at, however I'd appreciate peoples opinions especially experience of the brake pedal return?
Thanks

have no idea on that
have no idea on that solution but can look in the manual and see what it says, there are diagrams on lots of thing in there from taking the engine apart to brake, so most probaly have a diagram which will help you.......
should be home by the evening so will let you know then for 100%.........
Thanks Harvey. I'd
Thanks Harvey.
I'd appreciate that although I think I might need someone with personal experience rather than from the manual.
Thanks
