Forum:
Hi,
I've just passed my test so have managed to get the use of my parents 1993 sportrak elxi, and am wanting to make some changes.
I want to take the rear hard top off, so does anyone know of a soft top that I could put over it in poor weather?
Also, I want to fit a semi-decent CD player and better speakers. Firstly, is this possible? and does anyone have a any suggestions with regard to where I can get it all, and the kind of price I can expect? I havn't got a huge budget however.
Much appreciated!
Regards,
Charlie

Soft Top & Music
The Soft tops which fit the Sportrak are quite expensive, new you're looking at over £350, and the cheapest I have seen on Ebay is £150.
I only take my hard-top off when I know, within reason, that the weather is going to stay dry for a while, like this summer just gone.
Overnight, I cover the car with a tarpaulin, plus its got a alarm system just in case.
Muisc - I have a Blaupunkt 250w MP3 Head Unit, standard front speakers, refitted 150w speakers in the side panels which really help with the high notes, and in the boot I have a 3000watt amp runing 2 12" 1500watt subwoofers in boxes.
I have just fitted a split-charging system which is running a second battery.
I cutted holes in the boxes
I cutted holes in the boxes in the back of the car and fitted 6x9 speakers with 350W and running them on Kenwood mp3 player, so yes it's possible
