I have been having problems with starting off in 1st gear. For some odd reason, I have to wait 3-5 minutes before starting off. If i donot do that, my car starts to sputter horrifically then takes off. It sometimes does it in 2nd gear, even when the engine is warm! I know i'm not too experienced with cars but I think it has something do to with the oil. I mean i apologize but I but 25,000 miles on my 1990 Rocky SX. Before changing the oil. Any ideas? I also have this really odd wheezing noise when I put 4L engaged. PLASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are prepared to let your car go for 25k on the same oil, you deserve every problem you get - but this problem could be something simple like arcing HT leads or similar. In your case, I'd bite the bullet and initially book it into a competant garage/dealer for a full service and take it from there.
