Forum:
Howday people, just bought myself a YRV Turbo after pondering over getting one for the past few years! Only had it for a day and I love it!! It's VERY quirky and very different to cars I've owned in the past (bigger faster cars) . . . but I did own a Brabus Roadster at one point, so it's quite similar to that I suppose with the gear box . . .
Anyhoo, I have a question about my exhaust. When I bought the YRV, the garage had just fitted a new exhaust, due to the original being corroded. The only trouble is, they've made a complete pigs ear of fitting the new one and there is only one pipe coming out the back, instead of two. As well as this, it isn't straight out the back . . . it's a wee bit on the wonky side and doesn't look great!
Just wondering if any of you can suggest a CHEAP way of rectifying this, purely as I'm out of work at the moment and don't have the cash to splash around on new exhaust systems, as I would like to do.
If I took it to an exhaust specialist, could they do a bit of fiddling here and there for example and add an extra piece to give it the twin exhaust look for the meantime? . . . or do you guys think this would probably end up costing the same as having a new exhaust fitted? Trouble is, I don't know what the original Turbo exhaust looks like under the car . . .
Something similar happened to my Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo years ago, I took it somewhere local and the garage welded a few pieces here and there and only charged around £40-50, job done and looked and performed great! Just a shame the garage shut down years ago!
Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Andy.
