Sirion Clutch Pedal Height Adjustment

Forum:

I have two Sirions and a mate has one too. I have found the clutch pedal needlessly high and in fact higher than the brake pedal requiring my foot to be lifted off the floor to operate. Not good

On all three cars I have backed-off the adjuster at the gearbox and adjusted the pedal adjustment bolt to set the pedal height the same as the brake pedal. It makes driving so much nicer.

To adjust the clutch cable. WD40 on the adjuster at the gearbox, turn (viewed from the front of the car clockwise (turn the top towards the battery)) to shorten the cable outer.
To adjust the pedal, with 14mm spanner remove the height adjustment bolt. Remove its nut. Refit bolt fully without nut. Fit nut onto bolt (other side of bracket now). Set height. Set cable adjuster to achieve biting point within lower half of pedal movement

This makes for much nice pedal feel especially in traffic. For extra niceness, disconnect the cable at the gearbox and force lubricant into it by means of a bag taped round the outer and filled with WD40

Makes all the difference!
