Hello...New YRV Turbo Owner

Forum:

Just wanted to say Hi!

Have just purchased a YRV Turbo 130. Not sure if I got a good one or not as didnt really go out looking for one, hence didnt read all your advice before.

It has full service history, not sure if every 6000miles though, and has done 66k. Has some minor imperfections such as a little surface bubbling/rust, some small dents and the alloys are in poor condition. The car drove well though, and was a fun test drive. I have just traded in my Saab 9-3 Aero Hirsch for it as I could not afford the petrol and upkeep, so hopefully this little thing will keep a smile on my face without being too expensive.

Have just purchased Tein Springs for it from ebay, as hopefully will improve handling.
Going to upgrade brakes next as found these quite poor (any advice?)
Will get new alloys and tyres, tint windows and sort out imperfections.

First thing I will do though is give the car a good service via my local garage. Think it will need it! Then keep it up to date.

Look forward to joining the forum.

Ryan

Welcome!

Good choice of car Wink Others would disaprove and say you should have bought a Sirion Rally Smile

So you have bought the last set of Teins off Tim @ Spring-loaded then? Have these fitted to my car, one thing you'll find is that the car will be a lot harsher, but will help with the handling. To get the most out of the car and the springs is to uprate the tyres from the 175/55/R15 to at least 19/55/R15 or go for different alloys, but beware you may then need to look for spacers (Especially on the rears).

Oh I am putting a meet up of owners which will commence on 2nd April in Crewe, Cheshire. Your welcome if you want come down to show off your car. Beside Daihatsu Dave is getting lonely having the only Silver Turbo amongst us Wink

Jon.
