i am in desparate need of help.

i am in the process of buying a 2002 sirion 1.3 SL

all the service dates tie with online mot checks

the HPI check didnt show anything bad, but i didnt enter the vin tag as i havent viewed it myself in person, so the hpi check
didnt say any thing regarding it, except YOU NEED TO FILL IN THE MISSING INFO BY SO AND SO DATE.

THE DEALER SAYS THE CAR WAS REGISTERD 27 MAY 2002

when i look at the jpeg of the tag it looks a little suspicious

there is a 0 as the tenth character of the 17 character number

and on the top line it ends with *03

is there something dodgy going on?
could i email the info to anybody that can help me decode the whole thing please please please

any info would be greatly appreciated
