Daihatsu Novice

Forum:

Hi Everyone! as the title says I am a total Daihatsu novice! I have driven Land Rovers for over 20 years but I am feeling drawn to the fourtrak. I would be looking to use it for light cross country, shooting and the odd bit of forestry. Can anyone give me advice on buying a second hand fourtrak maybe even a fieldman as I dont think i would use the rear seats. Prices etc?

Many thanks for your time.

Paul

They are generally very

They are generally very reliable mechanically, all you have to really watch out for is rust. They tend to go in the inside and outside of the arches and sometimes sills.

use ebay

this will give you a good pricing idea of what they go for, but actually alot of decent ones have gone up in value cos there too bloomin good a motor, for more roady track use id go independent but for real workhorse the older leaf sprung models are definitely best, also they have pto capability on the transfer box for anything Anyone can think off, and are generally more reliable in terms of 4x4 use as there is no electric interface, also they have a handy hand throttle and completely washable inside, but depends what you want.

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!
