Yes you can just get away
Yes you can just get away with it safely, and wider then you need to switch to wider rims or alloy235's are generally the largest of the standard fitments, these are equivilent to 9.5".

You can go for the alloys,
You can go for the alloys, these will accept 235/75/15's, or 255/70/15'5; alternatively you could fit 23/10.5/15 on them.
Secondhand is the best option for original Daihatsu alloys, but beware of damaged or buckled items, they are not known for cracks but check.
Steel wheels are available new, very cheaply in a variety of sizes, offsets, and finishes. These range from the old faithful white through to specialised finishes such as chrome plated.
Check out new wheels from the numerous specialists for their prices as deals can be done on 5 wheels, dont forget the spare.
Many sources are available for secondhand rims, specialist breakers offer warranties and you are covered by the Sale Of Goods Act. Obvious other sources are evil bay and the various sites for secondhand goods.
