Forum:
I have now taken the head lining out of the rear of my '97 independant. It appears that if I take out 14 odd bolts I will be able to take off the top roof panel leavong the window down the side. Has anyone done this? If I take the panel off, will the windows hold together / will it be drivable just with the roof panel removed or should I remove the window panels too so that they do not shake off as I go along? (at which point I will have to remove the rear door)
Thanks In Advance

Lift Off !!!!!
Hi.
From other posts, one removes the whole of the resin hard top, (two man lift)including the side windows from the metal body as one piece and then the compleat rear door from the hinges. The rear door can be replaced with a tensioned plastic mesh. ( see American offroad sites) or a cut down door. One will have to give thought as to replacing the number plate and light. I believe "assassin" has posted on this matter.

Can you take just the top section of the resin hard top off? will the windows stay in?
