Fourtrak not starting 1st thing in a morning :-/

Forum:

I gave my fourtrak a oil change and de carbon the other day cleaned oil feed pipe to turbo with thinners etc... Then about half a mile after it over revved to max turned ignition off and carried on running for 20-30 secs... Been ok since ... Then on the second day will not start in the morning turns over and over eventually starting loads of smoke then once started will start every time until the morning again any views on this please would be greatfull.

That's a symptom of either

That's a symptom of either fuel run back (you've got an air leak in the fuel pipe), the fuel is allowed to run away from the pump as there's no vacuum to hold it, or what occured killed the glow plugs/fuse to the circuit.

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Thinners in your engine will

Thinners in your engine will often trash glow plugs so check them by removing them and looking at the tips, DO NOT connect them to a battery as they are 7.2 volts. Do a resistance test with an electrical tester and they should be about 1 ohm.

Glow plug relays can also give intermittent faults.

Sounds like oil pick up where it runs on sump oil where it ran on.
