I think it would be down to
I think it would be down to 2 factors, Manual v Auto & practicality.
The Sirion has a small boot and isn't as practical as a YRV - we've had both in our household, the Sirion was traded for a YRV because it could't take pushchairs and other child paraphenelia!
If you prefer the auto get the YRV Turbo - it's a hoot and very rapid if you 'manually' select the gears to keep it on boost.
Incidentally, although the YRV and Sirion do both have a 4 speed auto, it 'locks up' the torque convertor like an overdrive, listen carefully on the up changes. It does help the fuel economy, my YRV Turbo averages 40 mpg.
RALLY 2 or YRV TURBO
hi again folks, well i thought i was pretty much going for a RALLY 2, but after the various replies, i am having second thoughts. i think it might be best to have a drive in both, then have another think, only thing is they are not what you could call easy to find in garages.
cheers everyone tom
Rally 2 or YRV Turbo.
2003 Sirion SL 1300. And I love it.
Don't like the new shape much.
My 1300 SL does 70MPH at 3000 revs approx.
Nice and comfy. And not noisy.
Put on CD and Air Conditioning and enjoy the steady Stress Free Drive.
And around 52 MPG. Rally 2 will probably be a little thirstier though.

Depends on what you want to
Depends on what you want to use it for?
The Sirion is a lower to the tarmac car and will handle quite nicely around corners, although the power will be down from a YRV turbo.
If you want a point to point get to work car then the YRV turbo, as it has an Auto box for those get stuck in the traffic moments.

Personally would have the Rally 2.
Cheers, BobF.

I have the 1300 SL.
You are correct that it will ride much better than the YRV.
I also believe the Rally 2 will give a YRV Turbo a good run for it's money. It's surprising how many larger cars are left standing when I set of in my standard 1300, and it will be cheaper to run.
It is a slightly larger car and more comfortable.
I wouldn't trade mine for anything. In four and a half years mine has been in the garage 4 times - For a Service.
Never missed a beat in all that time and now has 66,000 on the clock. I love it.

RALLY 2 or YRV TURBO
cheers for the reply it gives me something to think about. just one more thing i forgot to ask, at motorway speed, ie 70 mph, what rpm are they doing. i had a suzuki swift sport, and a toyota T sport, and on a motorway they got a bit tiresome because of the engine noise.
thanks tom.
YRV isn't too bad
All I can say is how much travel do you do on the motorway?
The YRV Turbo isn't too bad on the motorway depending if you use the steershift feature or leave it in Auto mode but not kick down too much. Revs wise, the standard 2-3K at a steady speed on the 1.3 Litre Turbo engine, I think the torque the car has helps. One thing I would point out that beacuse YRV's are high sideded cars that it isn't uncommon to be blown sideways a bit.
Again it also depends on type of tyre you have. Also the Auto box on a YRV is only a 4-speed one, so fuel consumption won't be too good.

RALLY 2 or YRV TURBO
thanks for the replies, i am sort of leaning towards the RALLY 2, mainly because of the manual gear change, but never having tried a YRV i might be supprised.
tom
Try both got nothing to
Try both got nothing to loose but I think you'll be genuinely impressed with the Rally 2, handling is surprisingly good and mpg is great. Its a little noisy on the motorway but certainly miles better than many cars especially my Impreza.
