London Congestion Charge

Had an e-mail from Porsche UK regarding the increase of the congestion charge from £8.00 to £25.00 per day, most will find it interesting.

Porsche instigated a Judicial Review, this has duly been won by them, the congestion charge will not now be going up to £25 per day for 4x4's.

I am pleased to inform you that, today, the adminitrative court in London has approved a consent order quashing the increase to the charge. The new Mayor's legal team accepted that the previous Mayoral administration should have taken into account research from Kings College that showed that the new charge would actually increase CO2 emissions in Greater London, and that the new charge could, in fact, be unlawful.

Good news I think we all agree, for motorists in general, and for us as 4x4 drivers.

Might just be me, but in the short time Boris has been London Mayor he has surprisingly made a few sensible decisions from what I've read in the Times. Possibly as surprising as the fact that I read the Times Smiling.

Nothing wrong with reading the Times, i often read it online, its surprising what potential offerings are in it first if you read between the lines.

Good old Boris!!!! At last someone has seen the unfair attitudes encouraged by this Government and it's henchmen.
