Drive Shaft fault Diahatsu Charade 2005

My Diahatsu Charade developed a problem with the drive shaft very soon after I bought it. Unfortunately at my first service I was informed that my car was not registered on any UK computer as unbeknown to me it was imported from Ireland, I have therefore been unable to get the job done under warranty. I took the car to my local garage who said that this particular model had been recalled due to this problem and that he could not get the part to repair it as they had been modified, After many phone calls I have now written to the finance company under the supply of goods implied terms act 1973. No joy yet and my car is still rattling. Anyone with similar problems? Any advice much appreciated.

Had a similar problem but my Charade was in warranty. Daihatsu dealer did it and mentioned it was a common problem. Not had a problem since so it sounds like it was a design fault with original fitment. I'd contact Daihatsu UK.
