Starter

In addition to those items already mentioned, check the earth lead, these corrode and wear to the point where they will not make a circuit with sufficient conductivity.
Place a jump lead from the negative terminal of the battery to a clean part of the engine block and try to start her, if it is ok, the earth lead is at fault.

Starter motor brushes can also wear, these are easily replaced and cost around £7-8 + VAT.

sorry new to this its a

sorry new to this its a fourtrak indy tdx 2,8 an 94 model

Check.

1. Fully charge the battery and clean/fully tighten battery terminals and check security of leads fitted onto the starter.

2. Try jump leads from a 'good battery'.

If clicking continues then the problem is:

3. Starter solenoid is faulty.

What Truck!!!!!

'92 Fourtrak 2.8 TDX

Hi
It helps folks to help you, if you post details of your truck/car . Model/year /fuel. Assume from other posts you have a Fourtrak

Your problem seems to be battery or connections/starter motor, post more details and folks could possibly help.

STARTING PROBLMS

The clunking is the solenoid and usually indicates insufficient power in the Battery. Have you tried using an alternative or jump leads? I would test that the battery cells are all fully charged using a hydrometer or a battery tester. If all is fine and fully charged then look toward the starter and solenoid for failure.

Please indicate the vehicle type, it often helps.
