Belt Pulley Retainig Bolt L.H. Thread?

Hello from the Antipodes!
My first time to this forum (there is very little support in Australia for Daihatsu 4x4 owners, we need to organise ourselves)and I have to ask if all the diesel engine Fourtrak/Rocky's have left-hand retaining bolts on the belt pulleys. I have to replace the timing belt and wish to be sure before getting stuck in with the impact gun, Iv'e given it a bit of a tickle but don't wish to destroy the bolt or the end of the crank(AAARGH!!) if I get it wrong!

All RH threads

Done a couple of belts on Independents. All were RH threads.

The crankshaft pulley bolt is torqued up to 150 Nm (newton metres).

To get foot pounds, multiply newton metres by 0.738

The crankshaft pulley is a parallel fit, so should not need much pulling off EXCEPT if a drop of water has caused rust, when it can be an absolute sod to shift !

Hi' Suggest re- support ,

Hi'

Suggest re- support , you contact site member by private mail (PM) known as 'bundyrumandcoke' he is Oz based and runs a website, also has contacts with other Fourtrak/Rocky owners in Oz. Use the 'site search' box ' bundyrumandcoke' he would be a good contact for you.

Herewego, sorry, cant

Herewego, sorry, cant specifically answer your question, but I would suggest that all crank pulley bolts are the same thread. And they would be the opposite to the direction the engine turns. This is so that if the bolt happened to come loose, it would not undo by itself. So, have a look which way your motor cranks, and undo the bolt that way.
