MANUAL CHOKE FOR HIJET 650cc
has anyone removed automatic choke and converted to a manual one hi jet petrol ? 1996 4x4 tipper hijet.

Has the auto one failed totally so that the engine is either: reluctant to start cold; miserable to drive with and reluctant to restart when hot?
Suzuki/Bedford Super Carry/Rascal had a "manual" choke so the carb and parts from one of them might suit your Daihatsu...
The reality was it tweaked the mix when cold but was over ridden, by an auto linkage, to a degree, so if you left it out with a hot engine the engine would still pick up and run OK. With a somewhat reduced economy.
