MY DAIHATSU MANUALS

Possible to turbo charge Cuore?

Hey Gang,

Just joined the ranks of the small car army and am loving it. Currently driving a VW GOLF GTI but my wife said she wanted it so I had to find another car. So I got a great 2001 Coure and have been looking around for turbo kits or any information about turbo charging it but can't find any information anywhere.

I have seen some Cuores that have had the turbo conversion but don't know what kits they used or if it was custom.

If anyone knows what kits are available, and which ones fit the Cuore I would be very grateful.

Thanks and look forward to seeing you around the forums!

Go for 660cc 3 Cyl. parts...

Ready made solutions are very expensive,

The best thing is that you find a used L2, L5, or L9 660cc 3cyl turbo charged engine (code EF-JL)...

Get the turbine, the intercooler, the extractor, the cylinder head, and even the ECU, and use all these on your 900cc engine, and voila, you have a charged Ej-DE Smiling

The other method is to transplant a K3 engine, plug and play, very easy as well, will generate more horses and more top end performance...

Turbo Charged Cuore.

2003 Sirion SL 1300. And I love it.
Don't like the new shape much.

If you do this you better uprate all the dampeners/springs etc, or you won't be able to stay on the road !!

The 660cc engines had a turbo and body kit factory fitted, but I assume that you are looking for one to suit a 900cc three cylinder unit.

Probably cost more than the car to get a fully bespoke kit put together, are you trying to produce a level of performance to match your Goff GTi?

IF you are looking to get the ultimate then perhaps a Bike engine would be a better deal, the Suzuki Hayabusa or simleer could be engineered to fit. If they can fit them into a smart a Cuore should not be a much greater challenge.

Putting out 150-180 horsepower you should have your work and wallet overworked keeping it all buttoned down if the adrenalin rush overules the common sense.
