daihatsu hijet 993cc 1996 battery specs

I need to replace the battery in my hijet and currently have type 048 AH 40 Sae 325 Global and yuasa battery.

It seems very small for the battery compartment and I was wondering what the biggest battery was which I could fit as the current one seems to be a little weak under load (ie starting) even when it was new....any advice appreciated....

Battery for Hijet

I have a 088 Battery fitted to my hijet. But check sizes before you buy one they vary from a bit from manufacturer to manufacturer

Hi jet battery

The average 048 40Ah is more than good enough although Varta's 048 is 45Ah.
Would the Charade diesel Type-088 68-70Ah fit, its L-255, W-175, H-195 mm (H-215mm to top of lugs)??
The 088 also fits the Rolls Royce Cloud!!!!!
Or the Fourtrak Diesel 250-type 80Ah, although you would need the Type-249 for the correct Lug layout, size is L-305, W-175, h-205mm (225mm Max). All sizes are approx but can vary from one make to another!!!
Try a Varta stockist for advice, their batteries are the best and always have a higher output.
Regards,
Dave.
