I found that a long 14MM spanner with a straight handle will loosen the adjustment bolt for the Alternator. If you need more swing, just flip the spanner over. You also need a 12-point socket to loosen the pivot bolt, just be sure it's good and tight because it fell off on the way home when I bought mine.

from the top - take your time and it comes off easy.
just make sure ya tighten everything back up or things drop off when ya driving . Especially down the M6 at night...
