What is the average life span for the clutch on a diesel Fourtrack I do very little towing. Its done about 110000 miles and recently there seems to be a bit more noise coming from the clutch/gearbox area any opinions would be useful.

Any difficulty selecting gears at all
no problem with selecting gea
no problem with selecting gears just a whining noise usually under acceleration and at motorway speeds
Gearbox bearings shot
I encountered the same problem and the garage said gearbox bearings had gone.
