fourtrak Tyre chart

Forum:

Right, because a load of people keep asking the same question, please fill in below a breif description to what tyres/mods you have so ppl can just look down and see, try and avoid repetition tho eh? Wink

`94 F78 INDY - NO MODS - 255*70*15 ->

31-10.50/15. F70,75,80,85.

31-10.50/15. F70,75,80,85. 7 or 8" rims. No mods.
31-10.50/15. F55,25. 7" rims. No mods. Don't know if the same would be true for the short wheel bases, as rear body may catch.
31-10.50/15. F73, 78. 8" rims. Wind up the front suspension (torsion bars) so the car stands level. Otherwise the wheels mangle the front mud flaps on full lock. After lift they will still rub. Big lugd off road tyres will still be a problem, but I found BF Goodrich AT's fine.
In all these cases the tyres will rub the chassis, and springs (where leaf) on full lock, but will couse no dammage other than removing some paint.

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.

I was interested to see that an F70 will take 31x10.5x15 tyres without any mods. This is different to what I`ve been led to believe, have you any practical experience of running these tyres on an F70 as others have told me that I will need a shackle lift at least.

Iv'e green laned, RTV trialed

Iv'e green laned, RTV trialed and turned over my F80 (petrol version of F70) with 31/10.50's on her. All she gets is some rubbing on the chassis & leafs. Not a problem, just noisy at full lock, and a couple of shiney patches on the chassis and springs.
The advantage of not going higher unless you really have to is keeping your centre of gravity lower. I had to drive the old girl with two wheels up a bank so steep the wing mirror was almost toching the ground anyway to make her lye down.
