Help With Towing With a 1.6 Sportrak

I have just got myself a nice 1.6 elxi Sportrak what is the towing limit on this car , as i can not find any info in the handbook

I read somewhere that it was 1.5 tonne. I towed a large 18ft car transporter trailer with a 14ft sailing dinghy (on its own boat trailer) on top for 500 miles recently on my g reg sportrak el. Pulled it like it wasnt on the back, didnt want to stop tho! Biggrin

The legale limite for any 4x4

The legale limite for any 4x4 (I assum your in the UK) is 1.5 times the unladen waight of the tow vehicle.
As for how much it will tow, that's basiclly up to you. I have towed a car trailer, with a 4trak on top, and another trak towed on a rop behind that across several feileds, in high range.
And that was an old carbereta modle.
She also used to regularly tow a loaded car trailer, and a loaded horse box (seperatly obviousley) with little trouble.
