Gearbox Issues with Daihatsu Terios 2005 1.3 - Seeking Advice

Forum:

Hello fellow car enthusiasts,

I'm reaching out to tap into the collective wisdom of this forum regarding some gearbox issues I've been facing with my Daihatsu Terios 2005 1.3. I want to gather some insights before heading to the mechanic, so I can be better informed during our discussions.

Issues I've Observed:

Difficulty in Gear Shifting: Shifting gears has become notably stiffer and harder than before. It's not the smooth process I was used to.

Noisy Transmission: There's a discernible noise when the car is in neutral and during gear changes. It doesn't sound right, and I'm concerned about potential internal damage or wear.

Leaking Transmission Fluid: I've noticed a few spots under my vehicle and upon checking, realized that the transmission fluid level has dropped. It seems like there might be a leak somewhere.

Delayed or Harsh Gear Engagement: There's a noticeable delay when switching from park to drive, and the gear changes feel much harsher than usual.

Has anyone else faced similar issues with their Terios or another model? Any insights into potential causes, fixes, or things to look out for would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, if anyone has recommendations for specific diagnostics or questions I should pose to my mechanic, that would be incredibly helpful.

Thank you in advance for your advice and shared experiences.
