2006 daihatsu sirion (1.3L) engine swap to 3sz-ve (1.5L) problems faced

Forum:

Hi guys, I just did a 3sz-ve swap into my car (1.5L) engine.. only engine + extractor swap, ecu n harness remains untouched. past few days, the car throws a check engine light, giving me error (too lean).

how do I go about resolving this issue??

Why didn't you swap the ecu?

Could be the reason for the check engine? The ecu you will have will be programmed for the K3 engine you replaced. There for it will probably think you have a too lean system. Other things to check is the O2 sensor on the exhaust. You now may have the wrong type on there for the type of engine. That's if you replaced it when you did the engine swap.
Bit confused why you did the swap in the first place. In the UK you could buy 1.0, 1.3 & 1.5 litre Sirions, so why not just buy a 1.5 litre sir ion in the first place? Oh well Smile
