YRV ( non turbo ) Lowering springs help

Forum:

Hey guys!

Owned my YRV premium for about a year now. only just got round to getting some nice wheels for her and on the look out for some lowering springs. all i can seem to find here in the UK is 30mm drop springs. i was looking for something a little lower to suit the wheels i have ideally 40-50mm

Does anyone know if any other springs work from other models of Daihatsu/Toyota models?

Any advice is greatly appreciated Smile

Thanks

Josh

Wouldn't recommend it.

Hi, Currently own the Turbo model on 30mm Springs all round (Teins)and on the backs I have roughly 10-15mm gap between my bump stops. Also the fronts are quite harsh, going lower might not be an option for you. Also the wheels for the rears will need to be the right ET for you not to get any rubbing on the arches.
As for other types of springs to use? Good question, you might get away with using phase 2 (Mark 1) Sirion springs? As both the underpinnings of the YRV and Sirion are the same.

Original Turbo springs:

Pictures of mine when I lowered it with 30mm using the standard YRV Turbo Alloys and 175/55/R15 tyres:

And with replacement 15" wolfrace alloys which I had issues with rubbing on the rear arches:

With 17" Team Dynamics with 195/45/R17 tyres (Toyo Proxes 4's) only just passes the rear arches:

And to give you an idea what space you will get with just 30MM to the bump stops on the rear:

Thanks for the speedy

Thanks for the speedy reply!

The wheels i have on are 14x6 et 40 wheels so not far off the originals ( no issues with rubbing )

it does sit pretty well with the 30mm

i am pretty used to harsh rides as my other car is a Toyota Starlet Glanza V ( track day / street car ) with Tein Coilovers that are VERY stiff and everything polybushed

I will have a look at Sirion springs to see if there is any more choice out there as there isnt alot for YRV hence this topic, i have had a look at Yaris springs and they seem to look quiet similar
