Fourtrak diffs

Forum:

Anyone know of anywhere that recons Fourtrak diffs.

Thanks.

Im guessing your ring and

Im guessing your ring and pinion is probably a bit slack and so you've got a bit of movement on the prop? if thats the case, your better of just acquiring another diff or you can swop the front to the back.

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

The diff is making a chiming

The diff is making a chiming or metallic skimming noise at low speed. It's intermitent. It could be the roller bearing ,shim or spacers, or more likely the ring and pinion.
The prop is not making a noise that I can tell. There is a problem with the CV joint(s) (I think) because it binds in reverse on 3/4 to full lock in 4w drive.
I am planning to overhaul the whole of the front axle and suspension.
I was trying to avoid a 2nd hand diff because it's difficult to know what you are getting if you buy from a distance and it is delivered.
Thanks.

if you can hear a 'ting' type

if you can hear a 'ting' type noise, thats the uj's on the prop.
