YRV Rear suspension issue

Forum:

I have a YRV 4trak that will shortly be going to the scrapyard. Has been the worst car I have ever owned so I'nm buying a new one in a fortnight, diesel due to the terrible mpg with this car. I have an insanely loud rattling noise coming from the back. I thought it was just rattling tools or something but not so.

I checked underneath yesterday and inbetween my springs both of the rubber buffers have came loose. Issue is I cannot see any way for them to be re attacahed. Can anybody tell me how it is done? I tried pushing them on but nothing worked, I'm worried I've had a bolt snap that perhaps could have connected to it?

As much as I've hated the car I just need it to run for 2 or 3 more weeks, money is very tight so if it wont kill me I'd even run about with the rattling if needs be.

If anybody wants to buy this when I'm done with it for spares etc in the next few weeks I'll let it go for £200. Car is up in scotland, central belt. Thought I'd mention that beforehand as I'm a celica owner so I know spares can be difficult.

Could anybody also tell me were the airbag passenger switch is located in these? Looked everywhere but cannot find it. Airbag light is on just want to see if it has maybe been switched rather than an actual issue

Thanks in advance, any pictures/ drawings would be much appreciated I cannot find much on the net to work it out

Damper

Thanks for the reply.

On closer inspection the damper is not mounted at the top. Couldn't believe my eyes. Patched for now I'll have to buy a long threaded bolt and sum nuts tomorrow. Both have erroded at the chassis so I'll bolt it together will probably still rattle but will do until I can get rid
