yrv window switch (broken)

Forum:

Hi Guys,

Can anyone help me locate a new drivers side window control unit for my yrv turbo. The unit controls all four windows but infortunately the switch which controls the driver side window has broken. All the other switches are fine. I know from experience that there are 2 types of this unit and the one I have, the connector block fits into the botton of the unit more or less in the middle where as the other type fits in at one end. Any help or if you happen to have one for sale would be greatly appreciated. There is one on ebay from hong kong but unfortunately has the wrong connector.

How many connectors?

Hi Paul,

Can you confirm the connector types of the switches for me please?

On mine it has a single block of 12 pins and where there would be a connector adjacent to the window locking rocker switch its blocked up.

There are more than 2 types I'm afraid. Here goes:

a).. 12 Pin pin connector on its own (Blocked up 6 pin hole)
b).. 12 pin and 6 pin connectors
c).. 11 Pin conenctor (Usually on a 45 degree slant)

The door switch can be taken apart from the circuit board quite easily, and I have a spare switch bank, but will need the switches greasing up, as this is why they fail and brake off Sad

Common Fault

Must be a common problem on YRV's, my drivers side unit's faulty too, so it's either fully up, or fully down for me... Can get them from Japan fairly easily, but they're about £30.00 before postage...

the switches break because of a lack of grease

The switches themselves break, its due to the plastic pieces getting dry and then breaking with use.

Your switch sounds like mine, full auto up and down? which you can get. before mine was a semi auto until i sourced a new repro unit from Japan Smile

Window switch

Hi guys. Can anyone help me with the above window switch? Mine's broken and although I've fixed it (temporarily), I do need to buy a new one. Any help would be greatly appreciated,

You need to check the

You need to check the connections by taking the switch module out of the door as indicated on this thread. There can be variations and then have a look on places like Ebay to see if there are any for sale. Simples!

12 pin switch

Hi guys
Having same issue locating switch as above and have identical switch with 12 pins and a blank 6 pin socket.
I can get the same switch as above photo 84813-97401 from aliexpress but there version has 6 pins that are not blanked. My question is could i get away with this? What does the other 6 pins actually do?
Thanks.

Simple answer is no.....

When I owned a 2003 YRV Turbo ( Sold it last year with all spares to a fellow enthusiast ), I bought a few switches from EBay and Japan. Tried each one in my car and they didn't work. Only the 12 pin on its own did. Think it's down to how the drivers side works. Without the drivers main bank the other switches in the other doors stop working. You'll need the correct part. Got lucky with a Japanese part that gave me an auto up and down feature, where as the Original switch I had would only do auto down. The same switch is sometimes used in other models such as mark 1 phase 2 Sirion before they changed to a mark 2 in 2005.
