Front disc & caliper mod on YRV Turbo

Hi guys,

I am busy fitting the RunX RSi or I think there in the UK they called Corolla Tsport's front discs and 2000 model Subaru GT's 4pot calipers. I am just checking if they will work... Seems like it!! Looks hot! I still need to get someone to make the brackets for me.

I am going to remove the subaru name from the caliper and put in BROODWA! Smiling

Looks good Smiling remember those 4 pots on my first Subaru wrx. Back then they weren't great though Sad and that was on a car that was pushing 215bhp Sad what size discs are the Toyota ones?

Not sure many people here would get the "broodwa"... in English it's "breadvan" or "baker's wagon" hehehehe... I cannot think of a better translation, and you don't see those around anymore either, so most people still won't get it unless they are ummm... senior-ish!

Thanx guys! AT least she is a few 100kgs lighter than the GT. The Toyota discs are 275mm, I will slot them and fit some yellow stuff...got to be better than stock brakes well when racing her. I need to make a plan with the brakes before I put the 1.5l head on and the bigger turbo.

The broodwa still very familiar here in SA but I understand in the UK not much bread wagons driving around anymore. Smiling

Sounds good. Glad to read you are going with yellow pads, had green pads on my scooby brakes, and wasn't impressed Sad would recommend braded hoses and a good 5.1 DOT brake fluid for heat etc Eye-wink what size turbo are you going for?

ja already running Dot 5.1 and will do the braided hoses as well. I am not going to go too big. I have a TD04HL-14T or something like that of a volvo

I've painted them so long...paint came of the one caliper when I pulled of the sticker, will fix that later.
