Mine went (or was going) so I stripped it back to the metal, filled the holes and painted it with Hammerite primer (x2 brush coats) then x2 topcoats in matt black to match the bullbars. Gave it gentle heat between coats with a hot airgun to fix it better.
What did for mine was that some clot had painted over previous corrosion, as they tend to get the stone chips there.
