Hi All,
Have an ongoing problem with a clanging noise from my prop shaft i think.
Have been underneath and checked the uj's, they look in good condition, whole & complete. I presume a broken uj is easy to spot ?. The prop shaft looks ok, gave it a bang and shake but no noise.
EXCEPT if I gave the prop a good shape twist, it does twist just a little, and I can hear clang noise at the gear box end. Its difficult to tell if its the same noise.
Should i be able to turn the prop? ( about 10 deg).
Has my prop had it, or worse gear box.
There dose'nt seem to by anything else wrong, drives fine, gear change is fine, its just this noise.

First up, find out if it is t
First up, find out if it is the prop which is making the clang - it could easily be the flywheel - so tap the prop with a hammer to see if the note is the same. It could be the clutch dragging which means a bit of torque is being transmitted, so try backing off the adjuster a bit.
