to make things easier to get at, propshafts, oil top ups etc i`ve removed the two bash plates which are underneath my foutrak. Does anyone know if they are structural though - and should i put them back? - i`d rather leave `em off as the servicing is easier without them and i dont really go off road to extremes - any ideas anyone?

I would say they are not structural m8 but simply there to protect the underside of the gear and transfer boxes as well as fuel tank.Dont see any problem leaving them off.
Why?
The obvious question is why leave them off? They were supplied to protect the underneath of the vehicle. If they were not necessary then daihatsu would not supply them!

Only really necessary if you are doing some fairly serious offroading otherwise they are completley superflous.
