Does anyone know if i can convert my Sportrak to a softop for the "unpredictable" summer weather. It has the rollbars in place and i want to be able to switch between the two and put the hardtop back on in the winter. If this is possible, do you know if there are any establishments in the Hampshire area that can do this?

As far as i know all uk sportraks have a removable (sp) hard top.
All you need to do is get the soft top as a complete kit.
sunroof come off in about 3 seconds, back about 30 mins, but the back is a pig to put back on.
If you look at the rear window you will see the wires for the heating element pull off and then undo the four big plastic nuts and then the rear window is off.
The hard top is held on by bolts.
The sunroof comes of by opening as normal and then squeezing the pins in, lift to 90 ish degrees and pull up to remove.

Yeah, thanks i know how to take off the sunroof and hard top BUT i was wondering if i can have a fitted soft top "canvas type thing" made so i can have some protection from the rain if i take the hard top off and leave it at home and then get stuck away from home!!

Hi,
There are various types of soft top for the sportrak, but have a look on ebay for second hand ones or Monsoon make new ones. I think generally speaking, most involve a 'frame' or fixings to be fitted to the car to hold the soft top on, and i think these need to be removed to replace the hardtop, but i dont think it would be too bad if you only swapped them over once a year!
But, yeah, soft tops are available (about £300 or so i think for a new one), or about half that if you can find a second hand one.

Hi charlie.
I have a soft top which I've just fitted on for the summer the hard top is easy to remove but you need a assistance to help to lift off, first remove back wiper and rear window then undo all bolts securing top then lift up with the help of another person to lift off of lugs then remove without twisting it or your break windows remove rubber seal then fit soft top.
But where you'll get one I dont know but if you do get one and your having probs I live in Hampshire so maybe able to help out.
